Overweight?
If you are overweight - food is the reason.

eating too muchThere is no doubt about it .... if you only ate to survive you would not carry excess weight. Conversely not eating enough will mean you will eventually .... not survive.

Losing it is a different matter.  Dieting means that you are always absorbed by the food that you intend to eat.  How much does that food weigh, how many calories etc. etc.

Even - 'when can I next eat?'  'I will be glad when this diet is over so that I  can have  ???? again!'

When dieting you are likely to experience food cravings.

All these things are reinforcing your need to eat unhealthily, even temporarily - and with a great deal of effort, you manage to hold off!

Most people who are concerned about their weight  have an idea about what healthy eating is (though there is so much conflicting information out there it gets a bit confusing), what consititures a sensible portion size and which of the things they are eating are indulgences that  would be better avoided.

It doesn't help when  one type of diets seems to work wonders for some people but not for others.    A diet that make one person lose weight and feel on top of the world might make you lose weight too but you may feel tired and lethargic as a result.  That's because we are individual with our own healthy eating needs.

Obviously then, it's not just about sticking to a diet, you've done that several times but you still have the problem.

An Holistic approach

A weight problem is not always about eating too much!

Sometimes it is about focusing too much on food and weight and in some cases not eating enough or eating the wrong foods at the wrong times.

We are all individuals with individual ways of processing our food and indivual food balance needs.

In some cases strong emotional factors are involved.  If this is the case then they need to be resolved first as your emotional need to retain the weight will be stronger than your conscious desire to lose it.

Before commencing with any therapy we would need to know why you cannot eat sensibly.  We would find this out during an intitial consultation.  We would then recommend a programme to you.

The recommendation might include one or more of the following:

Hypnotherapy & NLP

Hypnotherapy is not a diet, so you are not aiming to lose weight, using hypnosis.  Weight loss is simply a by-product of acheiving a healthy lifestyle permenantly.

Hypnotherapy simply helps you to re-focus your mind on those very things so that you are motivated to reform your eating habits in a controlled way.

Hypnotherapy helps motivate you to live a lifestyle that will involve becoming the slim healthy person that you desire to be.

Using hypnotherapy to help you achieve your desired weight simply means that the emphasis is taken off food but this has to be done sensibly because if there are emotional reaons for your problem then they would either force the eating back or substitute to another symptom.

Hypntherapy also helps if you are eating to compensate for any emotional problems you may be suffering, sometimes so deep routed that you haven't even been aware of them.

Nutritional Coaching
If you suffer from cravings and particularly for sweet things then it could be that your diet is out of balance and needs some adjustment.

Although there are certain foods that are unhelpful to everyone and especially taken in excess, people dietary needs vary and what is right for one person is out of balance for another.  Nutritional therapy will help you to find the right balance for you.

It can also help you to eat the right foods at the right time of day for you.  If youa re eating the wrong balance of food for you then you will never feel completely satisfied and the excess food that you are using to try to get that satisfied feeling will not be used up as energy and will diver to and be stored as fat.

Nutritional therapy tailors your eating to your nutritional needs.

Aqua Detox
Aqua Detox is a good way to start on a new regime as it give your body a kick start to detox.  Get more information about Aqua Detox here

How will it work?
Whatever we recommend will entails losing or gaining weight gradually.  This will not be a crash diet or a fast weight gain programme.  You gained or lost the weight gradually and the most healthy way to redress that is to recover in the same way - slowly.

If hypnotherapy is recommended then you will simple experience a deep relaxation with no loss of control or so called 'trance'.

Some typical examples:

Craving for sweet things:
Nutritional therapy would help you to balance your food so that you did not need extra sugary foods.  This may be all you need. Supplements may be recommended especially at first.
Picking at Night from Boredom:
Hypnotherapy would help you to find other ways of relieving your boredom and stay away from snacks. One session may be all you would need.
Obesity:
A course of therapy would be recommended beginning with a detox and healthy eating programme, possibly followed by hypnotherapy to increase your motivation.  This make take several sessions of therapies.

The above are examples but you would be treated individually and given recommendations to suit your lifestyle and personal needs.

As we are an holistic centre, focused on preventative healthcare we would be able to recommend a full health maintainance programme but are equally able to deal with issues in isolation.

This will always be your choice.
